Bill Hamel, Speaker

Bill Hamel has served the EFCA as its President since 1997. While giving overall directional leadership to the EFCA, Bill’s responsibilities include leading the EFCA Directional Team and the Missional Integration Team at the national office. Bill also works directly with the EFCA district superintendents, including leading various meetings of “DS Clusters” and the entire National Ministry Team (which includes the DS’s) throughout the year. Bill is responsible to the EFCA Board of Directors, and takes seriously his role of encouraging and building into the lives of the national office staff. Bill recently led the denomination through the adoption of the new EFCA Statement of Faith, and continues to bring vision for the future. Prior to serving as EFCA President, Bill's varied experiences equipped him for his current position. Bill has served the EFCA in the roles of local church pastor, district superintendent, and executive vice president. He holds a Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, as well as honorary doctorates from Trinity Western University and Trinity International University. Bill and his wife Karen have two married daughters and five energetic grandchildren: Emma, Ian, Will, Linnea and Ethan.

Bill Hamel ha servido como presidente de la EFCA desde 1997.  Sus labores incluyen el liderazgo integral de la EFCA, lo cual comprende el liderazgo del Equipo de Dirección y del Equipo de Integración Misionera en la oficina nacional.  Bill también trabaja directamente con los superintendentes de los distritos de la EFCA, lo cual incluye liderar varias reuniones de los “DS Clusters” y el Equipo Nacional de Ministerio (que incluye los DSs) durante el año.  Bill es responsable ante la Junta de Directores de la EFCA por lo tanto él toma muy en serio su rol de animar y edificar las vidas de los empleados de la oficina nacional.  Bill ha guiado recientemente a la denominación hacia la adopción de la nueva Declaración de Fe de la EFCA, y continúa en su misión de traer más visión para el futuro.  Antes de servir como presidente de la EFCA, las variadas experiencias de Bill lo han equipado para su posición actual.  Bill ha servido en la EFCA en los roles de pastor de una iglesia local, superintendente de distrito, y vicepresidente ejecutivo.  El tiene una maestría en Divinidades del Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, así como también doctorados honorarios del Trinity Western University.
